Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is a government organization established in 1985 through an act for the development and promotion of export of scheduled products.The salient features of APEDA are as follows:
1.It is a registration that is mandatory for the exporters of schedules products
2.It is only needed to be registered for a single time
3.The one who owns the registration can seek financial assistance schemes associated with it.
4.The registered members can participate in training programs that are organized in various industries for scheduled products.

Functions of APEDA authorities:

1.Promotion of export-oriented production and development of the Scheduled products
2.Setting the standards and specifications for the scheduled products
3.Registration of exporters of the scheduled products on payment of required fees
4.Improving packaging and marketing of the Scheduled products
5.Carrying out an inspection of products for the purpose of ensuring the quality of such products


Documents Required for APEDA Registration:
  1. Self attested copy of IE Code issued by the DGFT.
  2. Bank certificate signed by the authorities.
  3. Cancelled Cheque

Bank statement of the bank account of the company or firm (for the last two months)

An APEDA certification is provided by the government under the APEDA act. This certification is needed if you want to export and import scheduled products to and from India.

After the initial process of filing the application, you are going to get the license within the next 10 to 15 days.

No, you would not have to apply for APEDA license every year.
